General information
|
Drive and manage media and public relations across the global Business and support individual Divisions and regions in their media and PR activities. Establish strong relationships with trade and business/Tier 1 media and analysts, working closely with the network of media and public relations professionals across the business, as well as with the client’s Group Communications function to maximize positive coverage for the company.
Reporting to the Global External Communications Manager you will contribute to the continued global success of the business.

Your responsibilities

Media relations / PR strategy –
o Develop and implement a global, integrated media/PR strategy in line with the communications strategy and messaging for the Business Area and Corporate Group.o Position the business as a global leader, increasing the visibility of its products, solutions and services across key audiences globally.o Identify thought leadership topics and opportunities to position key spokespeople as leaders in the sector.

Media relations / PR management –
o Develop comprehensive global media lists including key business/Tier 1, global trade and analyst contacts.
o Increase positive share of voice for the Business by managing relationships with key contacts, developing newsworthy content, securing feature placement and interview opportunities and undertaking distribution/sell in of press releases and case studies.
o Manage relationships with external media agency staff and collaborate with communications teams in Divisions, regions and segments to ensure flawless execution of media relations plan.
o Ensure timely briefings and preparation for all global media spokespeople and shadow all global media interviews
o Work closely with stakeholders across the Business Area to identify and develop compelling stories for press releases/ features/op eds that can be broadcast to a global audience. Support in securing approvals from customer communication teams as applicable and support communication teams in regions to tailor for a local audience where required.
o Collaborate closely with the client’s Group function to secure elevation of content at Group level
o Contribute with creative media ideas and executions to global communications campaigns
o Support management of external communications content calendar ensuring announcements are timed for maximum pick up.
o Oversee ongoing global media monitoring and quarterly reporting against KPIs

Issue management – Work closely with the different communications teams globally to oversee and develop responses to positive and negative inquiries from externals sources – includes crisis and issue-related media and social media escalations and responses.

Training – Ensure key leaders/spokespeople receive media and crisis communications training. Provide training for global communications team on media and PR, including preparing training materials.

Budget and cost control – Manage and apply rigorous control to the communications budget, ensure transparency and maximize effectiveness and efficiency.

Your background
|

Undergraduate degree or higher in communications, public relations, journalism, mass communication, or related area

8-10 years of experience in a similar position, in a global and industrial company with excellent story telling skills·

Native English speaker a must, any additional languages a plus·

Strong project management skills and effectively managing multiple internal stakeholders across the business and Group communications·

Experienced in working directly with C-suite, advising and coaching senior leaders on media relations·

Experienced in managing external agencies·

In-depth experience in proactive and reactive media relations and crisis management·

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to develop content for a wide range of communications channels to effectively deliver the appropriate message·

Ability to create and nurture strong and sustainable relationships with general, business and key trade media·

Superior spoken and written editorial skills, attention for detail and high-quality standards·

Sound understanding of latest and future trends in sustainable energy transition and transportation
